Microchanneling works by creating tiny channels in the skin. These channels trigger the body’s natural healing response. This leads to an increase in collagen and elastin. These are two vital proteins for youthful and healthy-looking skin.

There is a revolution occurring in medicine around the discovery of cytokines related to wound healing and immune function. Procell delivers an advanced profile of Stem Cytokines that saturates receptors in the skin with robust, pristine proteins, cytokines & growth factors. Most of wound healing reactions lead to the formation of scar tissue.

WHY MICROCHANNELING IS BETTER THAN ABLATIVE TREATMENTS:

Ablative treatments such as lasers, chemical peels or dermabrasion lead to formation of a scar tissue, and a decrease in the physiological quality of the skin. As a result collagen fibers in the scar tissue run in parallel array. This causes the skin to lose elasticity. The fibrosis leads to desired shrinking effect that tightens the skin and/or smoothies the wrinkles. However, newly formed epidermis is usually thinner than it was originally. As a result, skin also becomes more prone to UV damage. This can increase a risk of post-inflammatory pigment changes in darker skin types in particular. Additionally, the open wound surface increases the risk of infections and scarring.

Microchanneling is not associated with these disadvantages of the ablative methods. The epidermal cells are pushed rather than broken apart during this procedure.

Microchanneling stimulates natural, scarless tissue with an interwoven collagen lattice, elastin generation and a thicker epidermis.   

Scarless healing occurs only in utero which involves high level of TGF-B3 – read this study.

  • up-regulation of TGFβ3, a cytokine that prevents aberrant scarring,
