Unique Verve’s Probiotic Integrum Key Benefits & Actions

  • HOWARU® Bifido (Bifidobacterium lactis HN019®) — one of the most extensively studied probiotic strains with documented research in gut, immune, and metabolic health*
  • Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14® — well-researched strain with documented epithelial cell adhesion and acid resistance properties*
  • Bifidobacterium longum Bl-05™ — supports healthy gut microbiome diversity and healthy intestinal barrier function*
  • Lactobacillus plantarum Lp-115® — supports healthy gut microbiome balance and healthy short-chain fatty acid production*
  • DRcaps™ gastro-resistant capsules slow exposure of probiotic organisms to stomach acid for targeted small intestine release*
  • Nitrogen-purged aluminum blister packs protect probiotic viability from heat, moisture, and oxygen throughout shelf life*
Supports healthy intestinal microecology, bowel regularity, and lactose digestion*
  • Supports healthy natural immune response through gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT) interaction*

Probiotic Integrum is built around two non-negotiable priorities:

clinically studied strain selection and manufacturing integrity that ensures viable organisms actually reach the target tissue.

The Four Clinically Studied Strains Supplementation with probiotics has many mechanisms of action that support health — including supporting metabolic activity such as short-chain fatty acid production, B vitamin synthesis, nutrient absorption, and lactose digestion; adhering to intestinal epithelial cells to help maintain healthy balance of organisms in the intestinal tract; supporting the re-establishment of beneficial populations after disruption; supporting immune function through interaction with gut-associated lymphoid tissue; promoting intestinal epithelial cell health; supporting healthy bowel function; and degrading oxalates.*

Probiotic Integrum delivers these benefits through four carefully selected, clinically researched strains:

HOWARU® Bifido — Bifidobacterium lactis HN019® (167mg): HOWARU® Bifido is one of the most extensively studied probiotic strains available. Developed and researched by DuPont Nutrition (now IFF Health), HN019® has been evaluated in multiple human clinical studies documenting its effects on gut transit time, immune function markers, and gut microbiome composition. Bifidobacterium lactis HN019® has also been studied specifically for resistance to acidic GI conditions and for its capacity to adhere to human intestinal epithelial cells — a property critical for effective colonization.* HOWARU® and the HOWARU® logo are registered trademarks of DuPont or its affiliates. HN019® is a registered trademark of Fonterra™ Limited and is licensed to DuPont Nutrition Biosciences.

Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14®: A well-researched Lactobacillus strain with documented epithelial cell adhesion properties and resistance to low pH environments — meaning it survives the acidic stomach environment and maintains the ability to adhere to intestinal epithelial cells where it can exert its microbiome-supporting activity.* La-14® colonizes primarily in the small intestine, produces lactic acid supporting healthy gut pH, and interacts directly with gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT) to support healthy immune regulation.*

Bifidobacterium longum Bl-05™: Bifidobacterium longum is one of the dominant Bifidobacterium species in a healthy adult gut microbiome. Bl-05™ supports healthy gut microbiome diversity, healthy intestinal barrier function, and the production of short-chain fatty acids — particularly acetate and lactate — that support colonocyte health and gut barrier integrity.* Bifidobacterium populations naturally decline with age, making supplementation increasingly relevant for maintaining microbiome diversity over time.*

Lactobacillus plantarum Lp-115®: One of the most metabolically versatile Lactobacillus species — found naturally in fermented foods including olives, sauerkraut, and sourdough — Lp-115® supports healthy gut microbiome balance, healthy short-chain fatty acid production, and has demonstrated robust resistance to both acidic and alkaline GI environments. Its documented adherence to intestinal epithelial cells supports healthy competitive exclusion of less desirable organisms in the GI ecosystem.*

Manufacturing Integrity — Why It Matters

A probiotic’s label CFU count is meaningful only if the organisms are alive and viable when they reach the intestinal tract. Probiotic Integrum addresses the two primary challenges to probiotic viability through complementary engineering approaches:

Nitrogen-purged aluminum blister packs: Each individual capsule is sealed in a nitrogen-purged aluminum blister pack — eliminating exposure to oxygen, moisture, and heat (the three primary environmental factors that degrade probiotic viability during storage and distribution). This technology ensures that the CFU count on the label accurately reflects what reaches the consumer, even under variable storage and shipping conditions.*

DRcaps™ gastro-resistant capsules: Standard capsules dissolve rapidly in the acidic environment of the stomach (pH 1.5–3.5), exposing probiotic organisms to conditions that can significantly reduce viability before they reach the small intestine. DRcaps™ are specifically engineered to resist dissolution in stomach acid and release their contents at the higher pH of the small intestine — where colonization and immune interaction occur.* This technology, combined with careful strain selection for acid resistance (particularly La-14® and HN019®), provides multilayered protection for probiotic viability from capsule to colonization.*

The Gut-Immune Connection

Approximately 70% of the body’s immune tissue is located in and around the gastrointestinal tract — in structures collectively known as gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT). The gut microbiome is in constant bidirectional communication with this immune tissue, profoundly influencing immune tolerance, inflammatory signaling balance, and the differentiation of immune cell populations. A diverse, balanced gut microbiome — supported by the four clinically studied strains in Probiotic Integrum — contributes to healthy immune regulation through this gut-immune axis.*

Probiotic Integrum pairs most effectively with GI-MaxAid (gut lining support to provide the healthy mucosal substrate for probiotic colonization) and Digestive Enzymes (complete food breakdown to optimize the gut environment) as part of the comprehensive gut restoration approach practiced in Unique Verve’s functional medicine programs.

HOW TO DETERMINE THE QUALITY OF SUPPLEMENTS?

An important part of any supplement plan is choosing high-quality products. This guarantees that the vitamins, minerals, herbs, botanicals and other nutrients you take will provide the benefits your body needs. To be considered a supplement must be tested by an outside (third-party) source that can verify its quality.

NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS ARE DIVIDED INTO FOUR CATEGORIES:

  • Pharmaceutical Grade – supplements of this grade meet the highest regulatory requirements for purity, dissolution and absorption as verified by an outside party. These supplements must be 99% pure, with no binders, fillers, dyes, or other unknown substances. These are the supplements that are most often sold by licensed healthcare practitioners. Unique Verve Supplements are Pharmaceutical Grade!
  • Medical Grade – these supplements are of a high grade although they may not conform to the standards of pharmaceutical grade supplements.
  • Cosmetic or nutritional grade – these supplements are most often sold in the health food stores and are not tested for purity, dissolution or absorption. They may not have a high concentration of listed active ingredients.
  • Feed or agricultural grade – these supplements are used for the veterinary purposes. Never use supplements of this grade.

This probiotic is truly a wonder. I got my gut bacteria/flora tested after months of taking this probiotic. I had healthy optimal levels of each specific bacterial strain listed in this supplement. I attribute a lot of my gut health improvement to this probiotic. On a more surprising note, it is the only thing that helps me restore my vaginal flora when things are off. I was battling chronic BV symptoms for at least a year or two. Natalie recommended I break open this capsule, mix with high quality organic coconut oil, and use the mixture similar to a vaginal suppository. After a week of that, my symptoms were gone.
