Discussion

Unique Verve’s Plant Protein is a multi source plant protein blend of pea protein isolate, cranberry, chia and sacha inchi seeds. Also, added is a natural, plant-derived enzyme blend of Alpha-Galactosidase as well as Bromelain clinically proven to increase protein digestibility and amino acid absorption while reducing intestinal gases.*[1,2]

The non-genetically modified (non-GMO), highly digestible plant protein blend features a well-balanced amino acid profile, including a high content of lysine, arginine, and branched-chain amino acids to help maintain lean body mass and reduce body fat.*[3]

Fructose Free Unique Verve’s Plant Protein contains stevia leaf extract in place of fructose. Animal and human research suggests that consuming fructose-containing beverages increases visceral
adiposity.*[4,5]

Glutamine, crucial in nitrogen metabolism, is important for replenishing amino acid stores, especially after exercise or stress.[6] This amino acid aids in intestinal cell proliferation, thereby preserving
gut barrier function and intestinal health.*

Protein in chia seed contains 18 essential and non-essential amino acids, which can be considered as an alternative plant protein source for individuals who are vegans and allergic to soy or gluten.*[7]

Sacha Inchi Protein (SIP) is a high-quality plant protein extracted from Sacha Inchi meal. It is shown to exhibit great potential for lipid metabolism, intestinal health (decreasing the aboundance of the harmful intestinal bacteria Actinobacteriota and Desulfobacterota, and increasing the abundance of the beneficial intestinal bacteria Faecalibaculum, Dubosiella), and mental illness.*[8]

Among the macronutrients in food, proteins have been identified as having the greatest impact in feeling satiety. Thus, the effect of consuming high protein foods has been observed not only to yield a strong feeling of satisfaction immediately after intake but also to support a lower food intake during a subsequent meal.*[9]

It is possible that not all proteins provide the same degree of satiety. A study on human and rat duodenal biopsies demonstrated that exposure to pea protein resulted in the release of the greatest amount
of cholecystokinin (CCK) and glucagon-like peptide 1.[10] These gastrointestinal hormones modulate appetite sensations.*
