Environ Instruments Cleaning Solution – Why Cleaning Is Non-Negotiable for CIT Instruments

CIT needling creates temporary micro-channels in the skin’s surface — which means those channels are briefly open to whatever is on the needle tips. A device that is not properly sanitized before use introduces any residual contaminant directly through the stratum corneum barrier, bypassing the skin’s primary defense. The same channels that increase active ingredient absorption also increase the absorption of anything present on the needle surface.

This is not a theoretical concern. Unsanitized needling devices are a documented source of skin infections and folliculitis. At the 0.1mm depth of Environ’s Cosmetic Roll CIT devices and 0.2mm depth of Environ’s Gold Roll CIT the risk is considerably lower than clinical needling — but the principle is the same, and the requirement to clean before and after every use is absolute.

What the Cleaning Solution does

The Environ Instruments Cleaning Solution is formulated specifically for the material composition of Environ’s CIT devices — the stainless steel needle arrays, the plastic and gold-plated roller housings, and the device surfaces. It provides effective sanitization without:

Corrosion of the stainless steel needles, which would cause degradation of needle tips and increased skin trauma
Degradation of gold plating on the Gold Roll-CIT
Residue buildup that could interfere with device mechanics or contaminate subsequent product applications
Generic alcohol solutions, hydrogen peroxide, and household sanitisers are not recommended — they may cause corrosion or degradation of device materials over time and are not formulated for instrument-grade CIT sanitization.

For anyone using CIT instruments 3–5 evenings per week, the Cleaning Solution is consumed consistently. The 10% subscription discount represents meaningful savings over time. Recommended subscription frequency: every 2–3 months depending on usage intensity.

How to use

Apply the Cleaning Solution to the needle surface of the CIT device before and after every use. Allow the solution to air-dry on the device before use — do not wipe or rinse before rolling. After use, re-apply and allow to dry before storing in the device’s case. Do not share devices between individuals.

Soak the needling device in the solution for 5-10 minutes once a week. After soaking rinse well with warm water. Rinse after each use with warm water.

Do not leave the needling device in the Cleansing Solution overnight as it can damage the needles.
