Vita-Enriched Colostrum Gel – Colostrum is not a trend, it’s a biological toolkit

Bovine colostrum is the first milk produced in the hours immediately following birth, before regular milk production begins. It exists for one purpose: to deliver a concentrated, bioavailable package of immune and growth factors to a newborn with an immature immune and barrier system. In that context, it contains immunoglobulins (IgG, IgA, IgM) that provide passive immune protection; growth factors including IGF-1, EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor), and TGF-β that drive tissue development and repair; lactoferrin with antimicrobial properties; and proline-rich polypeptides (PRPs) that modulate immune and inflammatory responses.

When applied topically, these components have a clinically coherent application in adult skin. The same mechanisms that support barrier and immune development in a newborn have demonstrated relevance to adult skin experiencing barrier stress, chronic low-grade inflammatory signaling, and a need for enhanced repair support. EGF in particular has an established topical benefit in supporting epidermal repair processes. PRPs have immunomodulatory properties relevant to inflammatory signaling in reactive skin types.

The additional ingredients in the Vita-Enriched Colostrum Gel and why they matter

Cimicifuga Racemosa Root Extract (Black Cohosh): A phytoestrogenic botanical with relevance to hormonally influenced skin. Oestrogen receptors are present throughout the skin — in keratinocytes, fibroblasts, sebaceous glands, and hair follicles — and play a role in collagen density, moisture retention, barrier lipid synthesis, and skin tolerance for reactive stressors. Black Cohosh Extract provides a topical phytoestrogenic signal that supports these oestrogen-receptor-mediated skin functions. It makes this formula particularly well-suited for skin experiencing hormonally related changes in barrier tolerance and reactivity.

Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG): The primary polyphenol from green tea, with well-documented antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and photoprotective properties in topical application. A meaningful addition to any formula targeting reactive skin types where free radical activity and inflammatory signaling are elevated.

Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C): A stable, water-soluble vitamin C derivative that provides antioxidant protection without the irritation potential of ascorbic acid — making it an appropriate vitamin C form for sensitive skin types.

Tocopheryl Acetate and Tocopherol (Vitamin E): Synergistic antioxidant support and barrier conditioning — vitamin E works in partnership with vitamin C to maintain a sustained antioxidant defense in the skin.

Rosemary Leaf Extract: An additional antioxidant botanical contributing to the formula’s overall free radical defense and skin comfort profile.

Note the relatively short shelf life after opening (6–8 weeks) — this reflects the bioactive nature of the colostrum component and the absence of heavy preservatives. The formula is lightly fragranced with Lavender.

How to use

After pre-cleansing, cleansing, and toning with your preferred Environ products, apply the Colostrum Gel to the face and neck. Follow with your recommended Environ vitamin A moisturiser. Use morning and/or evening. May be spot-applied to particularly reactive areas.

This product does not contain a sunscreen. Daily broad-spectrum sun protection is recommended.
